Indiana Avenue: Celebrating History and Community
Walk down a street where history whispers beneath your feet – that's the magic of Indiana Avenue. Imagine a world where history is alive, connecting past and present. That's the vision driving the Indiana Avenue project, a digital initiative dedicated to showcasing the cultural landmarks of Indiana Avenue. Once an African American cultural center in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana Avenue is now a historic district filled with rich stories and significant sites.
Their superpower? A digital time traveler.
The Challenge: Many of Indiana Avenue's historic sites were not well-known or appreciated. We wanted to change that by creating a website where people could learn about and share the area's history, both past and present.
Here's how we turned things around:
Research and Understanding: Conducted thorough research to understand the cultural significance of Indiana Avenue and identify key areas for improvement.
Community Engagement: Created an interactive platform that allows community members to contribute content, share stories, and engage with the history of Indiana Avenue.

Increased Awareness: Raised awareness about Indiana Avenue's history and cultural significance through the website, attracting more visitors and supporters.
